Kansas City, MO (September 19, 2013) – Unlock the Champion founder, Freddie Scott II, represented the NFL for a Community Conversation on Mental Health as a part of the national initiative launch from President Obama.
The day consisted of visiting a local high school to discuss Mental Health Awareness with the senior class of Paseo Academy. The senior class hosted a “Let’s Talk” TV show with KCPS-TV that featured an ESPN 30 for 30 feature on Brandon Marshall’s mental health struggles, and then interviewed Freddie to discuss the real challenges people face. Freddie then visited the Boys & Girls Club Wayandotte Unit in Kansas City. While there, our founder talked to the kids about mental health, and what it takes to be courageous when the odds are against you.
